2. Data Processing

2.1 Informational use of our Website

If you use the website for informational purposes only, i.e. if you do not log in, register or otherwise provide us with information to use the website, we do not collect any personal data, except for the data that your browser sends to enable you to visit the website. These are:

  • IP address
  • date and time of the request
  • time zone difference
  • content of the request (concrete page)
  • access status/HTTP status code
  • amount of data transmitted in each case
  • website from which the request comes
  • browser
  • operating system and its interface
  • language and version of the browser software.

We store this data in the form of log files for 6 months in order to be able to analyse and remedy any technical problems. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) f GDPR (legitimate interests). Due to the nature of the Internet, this data is inevitably processed on many servers until your request reaches our web server; therefore, it is also possible to collect and use this data in "third countries" (e.g. the USA). Our company has no influence on this process. Apart from these technical necessities, the provider of this website does not transmit any personal data to countries outside the scope of the EU data protection regulation or without an adequate level of data protection.

In addition to the purely informative use of our website, we offer various services which you can use if you are interested. For this purpose, you will usually have to provide additional personal data which we use to provide the respective service. If additional voluntary details are possible, these are marked accordingly.

We do not pass on the data you provide to third parties or third countries.

2.2 Download of Product Brochures

You have the possibility to register on our website by entering personal data for the download of our product brochure. We will provide you with the download link by e-mail. With the registration form we process the name of the given contact person, the company name, the e-mail address and the telephone number of the contact person. By registering for the download, you declare your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) a GDPR (given consent) that we may send you product information and offers by e-mail and/or contact you by telephone. We will not use your data for any other purposes.

By registering for the download of our product brochures, the IP address assigned by your Internet Service Provider (ISP), the date and time of registration will also be saved. The storage of this data is carried out against the background that this is the only way to prevent the misuse of our services and, if necessary, to enable the clarification of committed crimes. In this respect, the storage of this data is necessary for our security. As a matter of principle, this data is not passed on to third parties, unless there is a legal obligation to do so or the passing on of the data serves criminal prosecution.

For the dispatch of our product information (newsletter) we work together with the service provider Newsletter2Go. You will find further information in the next section (Newsletter).

2.2.1 Withdrawal of Consent - Product Brochures

You can withdraw your consent for us to use your data for the dispatch of product information or to contact you by telephone at any time without giving reasons. You can send your revocation to info@echoprecast.com or contact us at the telephone number +32 11 600 800. We will delete your personal data as soon as you have revoked your consent.

2.3 Newsletter

2.3.1 Given Consent

With your consent you can subscribe to our newsletter, with which we inform you about our current interesting offers. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process your name, the company name, your e-mail address, the country your company is from and your language.

For the dispatch of the newsletter we use the so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that we will not send you an e-mail newsletter until you have expressly confirmed to us that you agree to receive newsletters. We will then send you a confirmation e-mail asking you to confirm that you wish to receive future newsletters by clicking on a corresponding link.

By activating the confirmation link, you give us your consent for the use of your personal data in accordance with Art. 6 (1) a GDPR (given consent). When registering and confirming for the newsletter, we save your IP address entered by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) as well as the date and time of registration in order to be able to trace possible misuse of your e-mail address later. The data collected by us if you register for the newsletter is used exclusively for the purpose of advertising in the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link provided for this purpose in the newsletter or by sending a message. Once you have cancelled your subscription, your e-mail address will be deleted from our newsletter distribution list immediately.

2.3.2 Newsletter Opt-Out

You can revoke your consent to receive the newsletter at any time without giving reasons. You can declare your revocation by clicking on the link provided in each newsletter e-mail or by sending your revocation to newsletter@echoprecast.com or contacting us at the telephone number +32 11 600 800. We will delete your personal data as soon as you have revoked your consent.

2.3.3 Newsletter2Go

Our newsletters are sent via the email marketing software by Newsletter2Go GmbH, Köpenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany, to whom we pass on the data you provide when you register for the newsletter. We have a legitimate interest in this transfer in the sense of Art. 6 (1) f GDPR (legitimate interests), because we want to use an effective, secure and user-friendly newsletter system. The data entered by you during the registration and the data resulting from the newsletter reference and evaluation will be stored on the servers of Newsletter2GO in Germany. Newsletter2GO is not allowed to resell your data. In order to ensure that Newsletter2GO complies with the data protection regulations, we have concluded a commissioned data processing agreement with the service provider according to Art. 28 GDPR.

We use Newsletter2GO to evaluate the dispatch of our newsletters statistically and individually. For this purpose, we use the following technologies offered by Newsletter2GO.

Geo-Tracking

Among other things, we use geo-tracking to find out where you were at the time the newsletter was opened or clicked. For each newsletter you receive from us, we store the city you were in at the time the newsletter was opened. This database is updated on a weekly basis to ensure that the data associated with it is always current and correct. This is very important in order to know the geographical distribution of our newsletter recipients and then to be able to use a local recipient segmentation. For a local marketing campaign, we can then simply select the recipients who are in the region where the campaign is to be effective.

Opening Rate

We also store the opening rate of each newsletter you have received from us so that we know whether you have read our newsletter. Newsletter2Go integrates a picture in every email. This image is very small (about 1 x 1 pixel) and transparent, so you can't see it. As soon as you open the image and it is retrieved from one of Newsletter2Go's servers, we can see when (exact time is saved) and from where you retrieved the image. Both the total openings and the unique openings are saved.

Click-Through Rate

We also measure the click-through rate, because we want to know whether you clicked on a link in the newsletter and if so, on which link. Here too, data is transmitted to Newsletter2Go. Newsletter2Go is the owner of several tracking domains, e.g. n2g01.com, n2g02.com, n2g03.com, etc. There is a link in your newsletter, e.g. to the page https://www.example.org. When we create the newsletter, the link is automatically rewritten to example.n2g02.com/l/328950081. When you click on the link, you will be taken to a page of Newsletter2Go (n2go02.com) for a fraction of a second and will be immediately redirected to www.example.org. In the short time that you are on the Newsletter2Go page, it will be saved which link you clicked on (www.example.org), when it was clicked and who clicked. This only takes a few milliseconds. For you this process is so fast that you don't even notice that you were on another page for a short time.

Determination of the E-mail Client

We also determine which e-mail client you used to open the e-mail. This is where the so-called "user-agent string" is used. The user agent string is a name of the e-mail client that you send along with the invisible pixel, just like the IP for geo-tracking. To better illustrate how accurate our statements about the e-mail client you are using are, here are some examples:

Google Analytics Integration

To measure the success of our email marketing strategy, we have integrated Google Analytics into Newsletter2Go's software. Information about the source, the medium and the campaign name is attached to each link of our newsletter. The default parameters are:

  • the campaign name (utm_campaign = {your newsletter name})
  • the campaign source (utm_source = newsletter)
  • the campaign medium (utm_medium = email)

This allows us to evaluate the success of the newsletter directly in Google Analytics and compare it with other marketing channels. The Google Analytics integration offers various tracking options. We learn how users use our website, how they got there and how much turnover and conversions we have achieved with our newsletter.

Detailed Subscriber Profile

The Newsletter2Go software creates a detailed subscriber profile. All information available about you, such as your master data (name, e-mail address, company name, country, language), characteristics and activities are collected in one place and clearly arranged. In the recipient history we can track all your activities exactly. We can see which e-mails you have received, whether you have opened them, the exact opening time, the city and country you were at when you opened the newsletter, which links have been clicked on, whether a bounce has occurred (i.e. whether you have qualified the e-mail as spam) and whether you’ve unsubscribed. This way we can track the interactions with you since your newsletter subscription. With a professional email marketing strategy and individual and personally tailored newsletters, we optimise the relationship with our customers and can improve the expert position of our company.

If you wish to object to data analysis for evaluation purposes, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter.

You can find further information about data protection at Newsletter2GO in the notes of Newsletter2Go: https://www.newsletter2go.com/information-for-newsletter-recipients/

2.4 Contact Form

When you contact us via the form on the website or via e-mail, we store your first and last name, e-mail address, the content of your message and files you may have uploaded or attached to answer your questions.

If you use the contact form to obtain information about our offered goods and services, we base the processing of your personal data for this purpose on Art. 6 (1) b GDPR (performance of a contract).

In all other cases, we have a legitimate interest in the sense of Art. 6 (1) f GDPR in data processing because we process the data in order to answer user enquiries received via the contact form.

2.5 Transfer to Third Parties

We use your data only within the scope of the consent given and only within the group of companies of the Progress Holding AG. The data will not be passed on to third parties unless this is necessary to fulfil the contractual relationship with you or to provide the services you have selected or unless there is a legal or official obligation to do so.

2.6 Data Protection in Applications and the Application Process

We collect and process the personal data of applicants for the purpose of processing the application procedure. All information provided and required for the performance-related selection of applicants is processed by persons who apply for a job with us. The data processing might be performed digitally. This is particularly the case if an applicant submits the relevant application documents electronically, for example by e-mail.

The following applicant data are particularly affected:

  • Salutation
  • Title
  • Name / First name
  • Gender
  • Date of birth
  • Home address
  • contact details provided (telephone/mobile phone/e-mail address(es))
  • Place of birth
  • Nationality
  • Number of children, marital status
  • Photograph
  • current professional status
  • Letter of motivation
  • School grades/school reports/school-leaving certificates
  • data on vocational/study qualifications and other skills, including results
  • any professional experience, if any, together with details of the previous employer
  • any existing performance appraisals from previous employers
  • other periods (e.g. periods abroad, internships, further education and training, periods of non-employment)
  • if necessary, further qualifications (e.g. computer skills, foreign languages/social commitment, hobbies)
  • additional information, if necessary
  • driving licence category, if applicable

If we conclude a contract of employment with an applicant, the data transmitted will be stored for the purpose of processing the employment relationship in compliance with the statutory provisions and will be included in the personnel records. If no employment contract is concluded with the applicant, the application documents are deleted six months after notification of the rejection decision, provided that no other legitimate interests of the controller conflict with deletion.

We base our data processing on Art. 6 (1) b GDPR, possibly in connection with the respective employment contract, because we process your data as part of the application procedure to initiate an employment relationship.

If you use our application platform at https://progress-m.onboard.org, please note the privacy policy provided there.

3. Cookies

This website uses so-called cookies. Cookies serve to make our offer more user-friendly, more effective and safer. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser. Here you can find your cookie settings.

A distinction is made between so-called transient cookies (temporary use) and persistent cookies (use for a limited time). Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close the browser. These include particularly session cookies. These store a so-called session ID, with which various requests from your browser can be assigned to the common session. This allows your computer to be recognized when you return to the website. The session cookies are deleted when you log out or close the browser. Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period of time, which may vary depending on the cookie. However, this only applies if you never visit our website again. This is because each time you visit our website, the deletion period for persistent cookies is reset and starts running again from the beginning. You can delete the cookies in the security settings of your browser at any time.

You can deactivate the storage of cookies or delete stored cookies in your browser, but this may result in limited functionality, delays or unusability of certain parts of the website.

We process the following necessary cookies. These enable you to move around the website and use essential functions. Without these cookies we cannot provide the requested services. This data processing is legitimated by Art. 6 (1) f GDPR (legitimate interests).

6. Online Advertising

6.1 Google Adwords Conversion

We use Google Adwords Conversion to draw attention to our attractive offers with the help of advertising material (so-called Google Adwords) on external websites. In relation to the data of the advertising campaigns, we can determine how successful the individual advertising measures are. This way, we pursue the interest of displaying advertising that is of interest to you, making our website more interesting for you and achieving a fair calculation of advertising costs.

We base the use of Google Adwords Conversion on the granting of your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) a GDPR (given consent), which we have obtained with our cookie banner.

6.1.1 Google Adwords Conversion Opt-Out

You can revoke the granting of your consent at any time without giving reasons with effect for the future. Click on this opt-out button to deactivate Google Adwords Conversion (Opt Out cookie will be set). The cookies set by Google Adwords Conversion will be deleted and the data processing will be stopped immediately. to be done

6.1.2 Functionality of Google Adwords Conversion

These advertising media are delivered by Google via so-called "Ad Servers". For this purpose, we use Ad Server Cookies, through which certain parameters can be measured to measure success, such as the display of the ads or clicks by the users. If you reach our website via a Google ad, Google Adwords will store a cookie in your PC. These cookies usually expire after 30 days and are not intended to identify you personally. For this cookie, the unique cookie ID, number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), last impression (relevant for post-view conversions) and opt-out information (marking that the user no longer wishes to be addressed) are usually stored as analysis values.

These cookies enable Google to recognize your internet browser. If a user visits certain pages on an Adwords client's website and the cookie stored on their computer has not expired, Google and the client will be able to tell that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to that website. Each Adwords client is assigned a different cookie. As a result, cookies cannot be tracked through the websites of Adwords customers. We ourselves do not collect and process any personal data in the advertising measures mentioned above. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. These evaluations enable us to identify which of the advertising measures used are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data from the use of the advertising material, in particular we cannot identify the users on the basis of this information.

Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection with the Google server. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Google through the use of these tools and therefore inform you according to our state of knowledge: Because of the integration of AdWords Conversion, Google receives the information that you have called up the corresponding part of our website or clicked on an advertisement from us. If you are registered with a Google service, Google can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider will find out your IP address and save it.

You can prevent participation in this tracking process in a number of ways: a) by adjusting your browser software accordingly, in particular by suppressing third-party cookies (see If you use our application platform at https://progress-m.onboard.org, please note the privacy policy provided there); b) by deactivating relevant advertising at https://adssettings.google.com, but this setting is being deleted if you delete your cookies; c) by deactivating the interest-based ads of the providers via the link https://www.youronlinechoices.com, but this setting is being deleted if you delete your cookies; d) by permanently deactivating them in your Firefox, Internet Explorer or Google Chrome browsers via the link https://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. We would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this offer to their full extent.

You can find further information on data processing by Google here: https://policies.google.com/privacy. Alternatively, you can visit the website of the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) at http://www.networkadvertising.org. Google also processes your personal data in the USA and has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active.
